Cameron does appear to be kind of a foreign policy doofus at this point. I thought he was supposed to be less enthusiastic about the EU than his Labor predecessors, but pushing on Turkey with what Erdogan has been doing sure seems foolish. Doesn’t the EU allow workers to relocate across borders or something? What makes anyone think there won’t be a flood of poor Turkish laborers headed west looking for jobs and entitled to government handouts?

JP Jones, the rules are as follows: you are required to despise and envy all wealthy whites and any wealthy blacks who are not loyal Democrats. You are permitted to feel ambivalence to wealthy blacks who are Democrats, other than Obama, because they are not “more fortunate”, they have clawed their way up against all odds in a system rigged against them from the day of birth. You are required to love respect and obey Obama because he is the savior of the universe. Does that help?

Gardener, you’re probably right about the price of the shoes. I just remember thinking they were awfully ugly for something that expensive. And while the echoes of the screams had the Bush family done this might be petering out, the taxpayer-funded investigations might well still be going on.

Actually Goatboy, I think the sneakers were around $500, but hey, who’s counting right? It has become an old trope by now, but imagine if Laura Bush and the Bush twins had run off to the Costa Del Sol for a taxpayer funded private vacation? The echoes from the lefty screaming might just be petering out by now. Or Not.

Mihai: You are so right. This is the same woman who wore $200 sneakers to a photo op at a soup kitchen. But the only media coverage was about how stylish she is. I think (hope?) we are reaching the point though where the media can no longer control what people can see and hear and find out about.

Nice catch. I read that article and didn’t pick up on the fact that the people they portrayed as “legal residents” either were themselves illegal aliens or were part of families containing illegal aliens. “Subtle” indeed.
